Recommended plans, faster opens, Refined brief canvas, desktop notifications
AI Plans is now Recommended plans. Refined brief gets its own page with per-section edit. PR Brain pre-warms on Refine. Desktop notifications mirror your email events.
Released
A round of feedback shipped from the Claude testing team. 'AI Plans' is renamed 'Recommended plans' (testers read it as a pricing tier). 'Improve with AI' becomes 'Refine with AI'. The submitter's refined brief now has a full pre-submit canvas — review it, edit any section, then 'Use this version' to submit, or 'Discard' to go back to your draft. The right-side coach panel on New Brief is gone — the refined output replaces the form when ready. Clicking Refine pre-warms PR Brain so the approver's first open is instant. And desktop notifications: opt-in once in Settings → Notifications, get an OS-level ping for the same events you already email about.
For everyone
Recommended plans (was: AI Plans)
The approver and agency planning tab is renamed. Testers kept reading 'AI Plans' as a pricing tier; 'Recommended plans' is what it actually is — three strategy options with confidence reads and cited sources.
Older briefs still lazy-generate on first open
For briefs submitted before this release (or submitted without using Refine with AI), the existing fast-summary path still kicks in on first approver open. Nothing breaks — the new fast path is additive.
Desktop notifications (opt-in)
In Settings → Notifications you'll see an 'Allow desktop notifications' card. One click, accept the browser prompt, and you'll get an OS-level ping for the same five events you already email about (brief submitted, sent to agency, send-back to submitter, decision, agency returned to approver). Works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari 16.4+. Same toggles control both — turn off 'Brief status changes' email and the desktop ping turns off too. Turn it off any time with one click on the same card.
For approvers
First open of a refined brief is instant
When the submitter clicks Refine with AI, PR Brain runs the heavy approver guidance + recommendation calls in the background using the same content. By the time the brief lands in your queue, the Recommended plans tab is already populated. No 10–20s skeleton wait on briefs that were refined.
For submitters
Refine with AI (was: Improve with AI)
Same button, clearer name. Pairs with the new Refined brief page so the verb chain reads naturally: Refine → Refined → Refined brief.
Refined brief gets its own page
After clicking Refine with AI, your refined brief now has a dedicated, well-formatted canvas at /briefs/<id>/refined. Big fonts, real headings, sectioned read (Reason for brief / Background / What needs to be done / Business objectives / etc.). Toggle between 'My draft' and 'Refined' to compare. Reachable from the brief detail page via 'View refined brief →' next to 'Open full view →'.
Pre-submit refined-brief canvas + per-section edit
Click Refine with AI on a new brief and the right-side coach panel is gone — the refined output now opens in the main canvas. Review the whole thing, edit any section inline (each section has its own edit button with markdown preview), then 'Use this version → Submit' to send the polished version, or 'Discard' to come back to your original draft. Clean state machine, no lost work either direction.
